Clarisonic After 2 Months

Two months of using my Clarisonic Face Scrubber: I determined after the first month that once a day was actually a little too much for my face. I experienced some acne break outs and decided to try just twice a week. That has turned out to be the magic number for my face. After a month of scrubbing twice a week, my skin has cleared back up and looks better than ever. It makes sense to treat the Clarisonic as a mask treatment, as it probably exfoliates approximately the amount that a typical facial mask or gentle enzyme peel/mask would. It gets rid of more dead skin than say, a washcloth or manual non-sonic facial brush does, so it can be easy to over-exfoliate. The instructions with it claim that you can use it up to twice a day, but I'm guessing that would only work for tougher, oilier skin types. My skin is pretty sensitive, and lots of products cause irritation. I'm not even sure I would recommend twice a day to really oily skin. Perhaps once a day. Anyway, with using the Clarisonic in place of a mask, and continuing to use my regular skin care regimen, I'm getting compliments on how good my skin looks. yay!!

My Clarisonic Review

For Christmas, by dear husband bought me a Clarisonic facial brush (http://clarisonic.com/us). I've had my eye on this little piece of skin care equipment for a long time. It uses sonic technology similar to the Sonicare toothbrush to gently aid your cleanser. Some of the benefits listed on their website:
  • 6X more makeup removal
  • Skin is soft and smooth
  • Cleanses so well that products absorb better
  • Gentle for use twice daily
  • Reduces oily areas, dry skin patches and blemishes
  • Reduces the appearance of visible pores
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
Being an esthetician and obsessive about skin care, I've used a lot of different scrubs, facial brushes, cloths, sponges, as well as an impressive list of skin care products on my face. This is my new favorite. My all-time "you have to go get one" favorite! The brush is so gentle and silky soft, it doesn't feel like you're scrubbing your face off (and my skin is extremely sensitive). Yet after using the Clarisonic for nearly 2 weeks now, I can really tell the difference in my skin. It's smoother, softer, the texture and tone has improved noticeably. I have fewer red splotches and my skin looks so healthy. I've definitely noticed the reduction of visible pores, since I have normal to oily skin and they have always been more prominent on me. I'm even starting to see a bit of improvement on those pesky little crows feet (what a bad name by the way, who came up with that?!?). If you've been on the fence about this device, I say get thee one now. If you've never heard of it, go check one out-it's definitely worth the money in my opinion.

New Product! Sugar Polish

An Exfoliating Skin Conditioner for your body, this NEW Sugar Polish by Soap Rehab has lots of moisturizing shea butter, with sugar to exfoliate. This formula is emulsified like a cream so it will not separate or leak. Just scoop out a bit into your hands during your shower or bath and gently scrub--especially focusing on dry flaky spots like elbows, feet, and knees. Then rinse. It will leave your skin feeling satiny smooth and lightly moisturized, without any greasy or oily feel.

As I mentioned in an earlier post on my scrubby soaps, exfoliating your skin is actually an important process to help your skin stay moisturized. If your skin is coated with a heavy layer of dead skin cells, your moisturizer can't do its job. It won't be able to penetrate that layer of dead skin cells and you'll still feel dry and flaky even after multiple applications of lotion. Gentle exfoliation also helps prevent ingrown hairs and body acne, in addition to moisture retention. Also great as a pre-self tanning treatment for the most natural looking, even tan. I've worked for months to perfect this formula and create a scrub that I love, and I hope you will enjoy it, too. Currently available in the super yummy Brown Sugar Pecan scent at http://soaprehab.etsy.com.
